A day full of kids and fun

One day this past week, I had a whole day of kiddos visiting. Ally came over first and spent the day outside with Colton playing with lite-sabers and baby dolls (but I didn't get a pic of them). A little while later Kaitlyn came over. This little bitty girl can put away the groceries.

She had 3 helpings of Bri's noodles plus lotsa pretzels and apple bites she snacked on through out the day. She also entertained us with her many faces.

Here is her funny face:

And her mad face:

A sad face:

And last but not least , her happy face:
She and Rance thought it would be fun to pretend to sneeze.
Ahhhhh....
chooooo!
Next, Gracie and Sophie came over. Sophie's bottle wasn't quite enough, so Bri fed her some baby food.

She wasn't too sure about the vegetable medley but she liked the fruit.
Grace stayed thoroughly entertained in Bri's room with all of the Barbie stuff. Rance had fun playing with Grace and dumping all the little things on the floor.

The Booth household was busy but we had loads of fun!

Hambone, hambone, have ya heard?

Trevor learned how to do the hambone at church camp of all places. It's not something you can just pick up easy. Cliff called him up to the MC booth so he thought he was going to do some calls at the square dance the other night. I guess you could say I set him up (thanks for the help Jen). Be sure and pause the playlist on the left sidebar before you hit play on the video.

Progress

And even more progress. The wall was started today and should be completed soon.

If anyone is curious as to how all this is coming together, come on over and take a look.

Need any dirt?

Or scrap lumber?
Here is a remnant of the old wall. See the tree next to the old wall? I hope they don't have to tear it down and that it doesn't die from the roots being exposed or something of the like.
This is the barge the trackhoe was brought in on.

Destruction

This is in my backyard at this very moment. There used to be 3 good shade trees right in front of this massive machine. They provided lots of shade in the evening. There are also the beginning of ruts. I hope all the destruction and cost are worth it when this project is finished. I'm still reeling over the initial shock of the whole boathouse building process.

Little Man Is Growing Up To Fast

I was being lazy by not putting the sheets on Rance's crib at 11:00 PM the other night and asked him if he wanted to sleep in his big boy bed. He was thrilled to. It didn't take long for him to doze off, especially with the lights out and everyone else sleeping. I found him the next morning at the foot of the bed. We will still use the crib for a while longer, mainly during the day at nap time, even though he can climb out.

Bowling Trip

We went bowling with the kids group from church Wednesday night. This is Rance's first trip bowling.

Rance didn't want to take off his tiny bowling shoes. These are so cute, I might buy him some just to have.

My Travel Pics

I took this picture from my truck while driving on 288 south of Houston. This is a scrap metal place and someone there makes all of these metal sculptures.

Left to right:2 biplanes, a roadrunner, a spider, stealth plane, and a rocket ship. There are a few other sculptures, like a giant gorilla hanging from a crane, that didn't make it in to the pic. You can get an idea how big these are by comparing them to the car on the frontage road.

My Little Man With A Big Boy Haircut

My hairstyling SIL gave Rance his big boy hair cut while on vacay. He wasn't too sure about sitting while all covered up, so Leah gave him a tootsie roll pop. He didn't have to worry about any hair getting on it since it was in his mouth the whole time. Daddy had to step in and 'help' just a little since there was so much going on.

He looks like someone else's kid. He looks so much like a little man now, but i miss his long hair a lot. Sniff, sniff. And no, I didn't cry. Let's just say he won't be getting another haircut for a while. Maybe this time next year.

Some progress

After a minor major set back involving a water pipe and a drill, I have made some headway on the computer room closet.

This is basically what the desktop will look like. I used reclaimed wood from our old deck. It is very weathered so it goes well with the other rustic wood in our living room.

Hopefully now that most of the kids' activities are done for a while, I can do more work on this project.

I did it Mommy... I did it!

I guess Rance is trying to tell me he is ready for a big boy haircut.

He was supposed to be brushing his teeth when Bri caught him trimming his hair. Fortunately, it isn't very noticeable.
But it's still a lot of hair!
Or he could copy his older brother:
